Peregrinação is a hybrid media performance that combines puppetry, theatre and cinematic techniques through the Cinetroscope — a miniature live interactive studio designed for theatrical performance. Created as an adaptation of Fernão Mendes Pinto’s literary work, the project developed a new form of live cinematic puppetry, combining the improvisation and physicality of puppetry with the visual language and narrative structure of cinema. I conceived and developed the Cinetroscope and its complete ecosystem of hardware and software for interactive cinematography and real-time visual effects. I also created the digital and interactive animation content, integrating physical puppetry with live digital imagery. The project was produced by Teatro Nacional São João and Lafontana Formas Animadas and premiered at Mosteiro de São Bento da Vitória in Porto in May 2014.
