About me

Luís Leite (Grifu) was born in Porto and is interested in creative practices involving technology and interactive media, stimulating the discovery of their potential in artistic and scientific contexts. His research activity focuses particularly on performance animation, bringing the art of puppetry into real-time digital animation, exploring the body gestures as an expressive interface for digital media creation.

He holds a PhD in Digital Media and a Master's in Multimedia. He is the diretor of the Interactive Digital Media master's at the School of Media Arts and Design (IPP) and he is the founder of Intermediartes (Media Arts and Interaction Cycle).

Grifu often collaborates with artists, cultural agents and theater companies to develop artistic projects. He was one of the founders of Animago Studios and has collaborated with production companies such as Miragem in the production of films and television series. In addition to performing animation, his areas of interest are interactive media, digital art, animation and creative programming.
